2012年　第66回トニー賞ノミネート一覧

Awards actor_Neil Patrick Harris

もうトニー賞の季節なんですね。司会は昨年から2年連続のニール・パトリック・ハリス。(司会としてのあまりの人気ぶりにビリー・クリスタル化しないかと心配し始めたのは内緒です・・・)
授賞式は6/10（日）Beacon Theatreにて20時(東部時間）開始。日本時間では6/11（月）の朝です。残念ながら今年は日本では中継がありませんが、後日NHK BSプライムで録画字幕版の放送があります。6/23（土）24:00-26:20（6/24の0:00)から。

新作ミュージカル部門は、ミュージカル黄金期とは逆ルートの「ミュージカル映画の舞台化」作品2本の一騎打ちになりそうです。まずノミネート数11でトップを走っているのが、2007年のアイルランド映画「ONCE ダブリンの街角で」を元にしたOnce。対する8部門ノミネートのNewsiesは、クリスチャン・ベイルとディズニーの1992年の早すぎたティーンミュージカル映画の舞台版。これ以上ないほど素晴らしい解説記事があったのでリンクご参照。その１（元になった映画の物語と時代背景）その２（なぜ大コケした映画が2012年に大ヒットミュージカルになったのか）

ミュージカルのリバイバル作品で気になるのは、やっぱりスティーヴン・ソンドハイムの1971年の「フォリーズ」。ミュージカル黎明期のブロードウェイで豪華絢爛なレビューを上演していたジーグフェルト・フォリーズらしき劇場の取り壊しをモチーフにした大人の恋愛劇。バーナデット・ピータース主演、エレン・ペイジ共演と出演者が豪華ですが、この二人以外のキャストが4人もノミネートされています。

ストレートプレイでは、主演男優部門ノミネートが、フィリップ・シーモア・ホフマン、ジェームズ・アール・ジョーンズ、フランク・ランジェラ、ジョン・リスゴーととんでもない事になっていますが、やっぱりここはイギリスから主演作をひっさげてやってきたOne Man, Two Guvnorsのコードンにがんばってほしいですｖ　

PSH主演のセールスマンの死からは、助演のアンドリュー・ガーフィールドもノミネート。同じく助演にミュージカルドラマSMASHで作曲家を演じるクリスチャン・ボールもPeter and the Starcatcherで選出されています。ピーター・パンがピーター・パンになる前を描いた童話を元にしたにぎやかな作品のようで、ちょっと気になります。

他にも、ヒュー・ダンシー出演でマゾッホの「毛皮を着たヴィーナス」をモチーフにした現代劇 Venus in Furも面白そう。キャストが少なくてお金がかからないのに内容は刺激的なので、日本のキャストですぐに誰かが上演するのでは・・・と踏んでいますが、どうでしょう？

さらに今年はヒュー・ジャックマンが名誉賞受賞なので、昨年に引き続き、NPHと丁々発止の華麗なダンス合戦を見せてくれるかもしれません？！
